It is a lot of work with small dog, get worse when it is colder outside. Takes a lot of persitance from you. make sure you let him out when he wakes up, done eating, or if you are playing with him and all of the sudden he starts to wonder around. Don't be afraid to crate train it you are not already.

Tie him to your belt loop, so he is with you 100% of the time you are in the house...do NOT let him out of your sight. If you leave...crate him...if you get busy and cannot have him right at your ankle...crate him...Unlike a little puppy, he's not a blank slate...you're going to have to overcome an old habit, and instill a new...Keeping him right at your side, will take about 30 days...100% vigilence and consistancy is what it's going to take.

Little dogs are hard to watch...they are quick and sneaky, and small enough to be under foot, yet seemingly out of sight at the same time...hard to baby gate into a room...I mean for dogs this small...it's not easy...

make sure youre watching them at ALL TIMES if they go in the house its not their fault, its yours for not keeping an eye on them I agree with harley rider just keep taking him out of the house, and make sure you praise him like crazy when he does go outside
