Tounge splitting?

so I'm getting my Tounge split Tomarrow ( cuts it straight through the middle like a snake) I think it's Soo Kool.

I was just wondering how the process is?
How bad you think it hurts from 1-10 (have high pain tolerence)
What do you guys think about...

Probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of, tongue spitting??...lmfao!! Maybe you should inquire about getting a frogs tongue instead, you'd save heaps of money on fly spray.

I heard it is sore getting your tongue pierced never mind geting it split in half! im guessing it will hurt pretty bad!!haha

well, that's a very sensitive area (especially when you bite on it; ow!) I think that it'll look weird at first, but then again, sounds cool. especially for your band; it'll be a true punk appearance symbol. wish the best of luck for you when you have it done.

Dude, I know it's the fad now, and tongue splitting used to be a taboo body modification but slightly more accepted now, but it's just going to get old and stupid like an eyebrow piercing. Cutting that muscle is going to change your life. You're going to have to relearn how to talk, etc.

I don't know why you're going through this when you don't even know how much it'll hurt. It's worse than the pain from scarification/branding. You won't get any anesthetic. I'm a big fan of body modification, but when it comes to extreme bodmods, only when a person is mature enough and holding out on his/her own in the world. You are a young guy, and a singer at that. You're mutilating an instrument of your passion.

ahh!! XD I'm getting my tounge split next friday, I'm super excited. I've wanted mine done since I was in 3rd grade..I've done a lot of research on it, and it doesn't seem like a bad idea, and if you ever get tired of it you can get it revearsed. the only thing that I haven't been able to find tho is how bad it hurts... you should def let me know how bad it hurts, or if it even hurts at all...msg me on myspace @

natty, hopefully you've done ENOUGH research, and know that a reversed split tongue won't get your tongue back to normal.

By removing the skin on the inside of the split and then suturing the tongue back together, it can be induced to go back to normal. I know of no one who has willingly undergone such a procedure, although it has been forced on some people by new military regulations in the United States. Tongue splitting reversal is far more painful than splitting and takes far longer to heal and seems more prone to complications.

Because of scarring and other damage done during the reversal operation, permanent damage to tongue mobility is not unheard of, leaving a shortened and narrowed tongue that is not as nimble, which of course damages speech and other activities. In addition, nerve damage from the reversal procedure is more likely than from the initial split and there have been reports of damage to both touch and taste sensations in tongue splitting reversal procedures.

Reversing a tongue splitting is strongly discouraged — don't split your tongue if you think you might have to reverse it in the future.

it bleeds a lot but your cuting down the middle (witch is not muscle!!!) its just tisue
id say its worth the process and it seems like nobodys giving you any answers

but if I had to guess id say it hurt about 8 on a scale 1-10
