Tough car question

Yep... Asked by iceman84 3 months ago, 2 answers.

I need to know if GM did a mid-year shift in the catalytic converter for the 1996 Chevy Camaro. I bought an aftermarket cat (magnaflow) and now the exhaust sits about 1/16in away from my driveshaft. That is way to close for comfort. Any ideas?

I think it doesn't matter because the catalytic is smaller on new magna flow besides if you really want to get more power or deeper sound just get straight outs with or with out the headers and then when ever you do smog put a stock thing back, also cat backs are not as good as people think use ether straight out pipes or a stock thing with the muffler a cat back is just waste of money

Ok. Thanks. My situation is that my old cat is dead, and the cheepest one was the Magnaflow. In Pennsylvania, you need a cat to pass state inspections. So with that being said, after inspection I could be ok with it being that close?
