You should never do ANY piercing by yourself or a friend unless trained. It's extremely dangerous.

DO NOT try doing it yourself or getting a friend to do it. If you don't get it done my a professional, you risk damaging your tongue and the nerve systems to it, and without the proper equipment to clean treat it after getting pierced, it is highly likely it will get infected, which can also be very dangerous. People have become paralyzed from trying to have their tongue pierced by people not knowing exactly what they're doing - DON'T risk it.

That will just show your parents how irresponsible you are.
Obviously they said no for a reason.
If you're willing to take that big of a risk then you need to put a wee bit more thought into the idea.

I wouldn't try to do that, you could bleed to death, or mess it up somehow

If you hit a vein in your tounge, you will bleed to death because they don't clot, and you mouth is full of bacteria and it could easily become infected if you did it yourself

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing!

and idc what people say, if youre careful in what your doing everything should come out fine!

take listerine first for about 10 minutes, then get a washed needle and let it rip! then just move the needle back and forwards till the hole is nice and open. Then you insert the ring.

still im a guy so I atleast can handle the responsibilities of the after math. meanig you should give some thought to it! GOOD LUCK! =]

Actually piercings can be performed at home
you just need to do the right research,
have appropriate steryl eqquipment and
make shure what your doing.
Personally I wouldent pierce the acctual tounge,
due to the nerves and viens, but tounge webs should not
be a problem. I did my tounge web my self at home not
to long ago, no blood, and a painless process, the area is quite thin and you can easily see any small veins. Just be shure to pick a spot that is not too close to the edge beacause a piercing such as this is prone to migration.
Hope this helps

Right on! I'm planning on doing this on my own next week. Although it's NEVER a good idea to do any piercing yourself, I know the feeling of not being allowed to do anything with your body. Just take necessary precautions and follow the same procedure as professional piercers. Use a brand new needle that has been sterilized prior to packaging. Boil your jewelry and use mouthwash. A clamp would be a good thing to have too. Then have at it! Make sure you use mouthwash WITHOUT alcohol, and rinse your mouth after every meal. this kind of piercing builds up plaque extremely fast. Good luck!

At first I wasn't going to get it because I thought it would hurt but everyone is sayin it doesn't...my only question is...is does it cause you to have a lisp? And if so for how long? And how long does it take to heal?

You have to clean your mouth after everything you try to eat and drink!! or it will get totally infected you won't be able to hide it from your parents because your tongue is the size of an apple but after its healed noone would even know its there!! 3

I just pierced my web three days ago and I found out that useing salt water to clean your mouth was the best because when I pierced my menro I swished with salt water and it took down the swolleness and cleaned it out but hey it tastes bad but it works just like buckles lol but salt water helps so I addvise you to use it and wait about a week or two before changeing the bar bell or ring because changeing it to much speed up the prosess of geting a infection and swiching rings or bar bells will make it swollen and than you have to go through the whole thing again and not be able to eat right or drink right because you cant put your tongue to the top of your mouth and while your going through trying to get use to haveing your web pierced you will talk different and try not yelling at your parents for a bit because when you yell your tongue shows a lot and so when your yelling your parents look at your mouth and they will notice a silver or black thing in your mouth and then you will get in sh*t about haveing that and the other reasons and try not eating hard foods eat soup for a week like something soft not something you have to it there and chew for ever but I hope this helps you
