I'm obviously not a mother, but, hey, dads might have something to offer.
First, I'd get her to a doctor. Pre-natal care is critical. Let's be blunt: I'd have her checked for STDs.
Next, depending on her age, I'd discuss plans and possibilities for having, and caring for the baby...is adoption (either in or out of the family something you have to consider?) Also, what plans have to be made for continuing her education in light of the new situation
Then, again depending on her age, I'd want to talk about what role the father wants, and what is desirable.
Finally, I'd try to re-establish the relationship with and supervision of my child and her activities so that she gets the maximum benefit for parental guidance.
As a mom of one girl, I'd be hurt, disappointed, but at the end of the day thats my daughter and I love her and I think camppapa said it well.
I wouldn't yell at her - that isn't going to improve the situation any. Only make things worse. I want my children to feel like its okay to come to me about everything and anything, not be afraid of me.
So - we would definitely have to sit down and talk about all parties involved, I would want to talk to the fathers parents as well - with the father present.
And we would have to come to an agreement of sorts and really develop a plan for her life based on the choices she made.
