Do you have any tips for an aspiring novelist?

My dream is to become a writer and I'm fed up with sitting around on my ass all day, so I've decided that today is the day I'm going to start working on my novel. The problem is, I have no clue what to make it about! Therefore, I need your advice, I'll give you the ideas I already have and I'd like you guys to please tell me what you think. I want to write a book that teaches valuable life lessons. I want it to help solve some of the world's myseteries. Even though I live in Nova Scotia Canada, I want to be well-known world-wide. So my questions are:
1. How can I incorporate specific characters and a plot into that criterea and what type of story-line should I use?
2. What are some of the most important things to you when reading a book?
Please give my all the advice you can about writing my novel and having it published. Thanks!

People love shocking things. Like the new show dirt. the dark side of life no matter who you are is very tabo. Deep dark thinking.We all want to be good but we know how fun it is to do dark things. Ask someone if they want to her about your day or your dark secrect. I know what they'll say. They want to dip into the dark side.
