How would you make yourself throw up?

Okay in science class were doing a lesson on poision and one of the question was you swallowed drug x and you need to induce vomiting. my question is how would you make urself throw up if you swallowed a posinious substince and your suppose to induce...

You'd call the poison control center (or equivelent) FIRST because some poisons should NOT be thrown up and will cause even further damage.

Then, you'd get help from an ADULT as you're underage...but, if you were alone, you'd call the poison control center or 911.

Now...if your teacher wants a different answer, tell them their being an irresponsible adult and giving incredibly bad information to children.

Since the question was:
You took drug X and NEED to induce vomiting...
We can assume that proper research was done and that things are far enough gone that whoever took the drug needs to vomit... ie - young person home alone, accidentally ingests drug X instead of a painkiller, calls 911, who, after determining what drug was taken, instructs victim to vomit.

Stick your finger down your throat as far as you can. This will induce a gag reflex that will turn to vomiting if you don't pull out the finger. Once vomiting has begun, the gag reflex will keep things going until the stomach is empty.

TheDude is right about poisons, though. Without knowing what was taken, it is dangerous to simply puke it back up. If a poison is taken, call 911 (or poison control, if yoiu know the number) and get their help. Some poisons do serious damage coming back up. Don't drink anything, either, as water can enhance the effect/speed of some poisons.

Depending upon the poison you ingested, if you have some Syrup of Ipecac immediately available you should use that. Ipecac will cause vomiting within 15 - 30 minutes. The vomit should be saved in a suitable container, so that it can be inspected by medical personnel.
