Thomas jefferson and thomas paine?!?!

Pictures. Asked by cheerlady12 about 1 month ago, 2 answers.

Did Thomas Jefferson and the writers of the Declaration plagiarized from Thomas Paine, Common Sense?

Jefferson wrote the original draft, but much of it was rewritten by the continental congress. And since most of congress had probably already read Paine's calls for independence in Common Sense earlier that year, it would only be logical that there might be similar wording and concepts. They were influenced by many sources in the writing of the declaration.

Me...I redid it so I was solo haha Answered by danigirl20 on Oct 28, 2009, 12:52PM

No it wasn't...Common Sense gave them more reason to write the Declaration.
