This is your opportunity to express your religion without arguement

Shark Atack Asked by funadvice about 1 month ago, 20 answers.

In social studies class we are studying culture. I find religion the most fascinating part of culture.

So,let me hear your beliefs.

Tell me every little detail,if you please.

And while all of this is going on,no one will insult or question...

another. Why do that, anyway? It's not your life,so don't try to convert them.

I'm Buddhist.
I believe in rebirth and enlightenment, and that the path to achieve enlightenment is to end suffering with patient acceptance and compassion.

me, im an anti-theist, I believe religion is causing worthless conflicts and has too much control over the people, hindering free will, even though it was born from free will

I believe god doesnt exist, satan doesnt exist, hell and heaven dont exist and the whole thing is a sham and a lie, to gain power over them

religion should be abolished, people should understand the truth, enough fighting and killing has been brought up by religion, and people wanting to make others just like them. there is enough documented cases where religion was used purely to gain wealth and power, but the believers are too dumb to see it...
oh and its a fact a very large percentage of priests have been accused and trialed as child molesters in the US alone, so yeah kinda shows what they are...

thats about it, I dont try to convert people I only want them to see the other side and stop clogging up their brain with fiction that will do nothing but keep them from seeing the truth...

I'm Agnostic

I find it pointless to believe in the existence or nonexistence of something, when NEITHER can be proven. I also accept that there are limits to human comprehension; and I remain skeptical regarding any man-made explanations for untestable unexplainable phoenomenon.

I don't believe in gods, demons, the supernatural, spirits, life after death, reincarnation, aliens, ghosts, leprechauns, nessie, the Great Pumpkin, Santa, the Tooth Fairy, etc.

The reason I don't believe in these things, is that they're silly, and there is no good reason to accept them.

I am wiccan, I believe in a Triple Goddess and God and that the major golden rule to life is to not harm others and to try to do my best to make the world a better place. I believe that all belief systems are valid. as I said in another question posted I have a diamond philosophy, that we all look at the diamond (which is a higher being) and we see a different face of it. I see a goddess, others see the christian god, others see logic and reason. The diamond is different to all of us, but we are all looking at it when religion comes up. Thats why I think that all of us and our beliefs are equal and should be equally respected.

Hello, I am muslim , we belive there is only one God ,He begetthe not,nor is he begotten, and not one like him,and there is none like him,and , so we should not give any one status of God accept him, He gave us instruction through His messengers (who are His chosen slave).Jesus ,Moses,Adam
and Muhammad (Peace be upon all of them ) was all His messnger, and they are all given instructions for mankind through Holy books but their followers changed those books, so now there is no Holy book which is safe and pure but except QURAN the last book by last Prohpet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) which has enlighting information.

I believe that there was a man 2000 years ago that completed the prophesies of the Jews.
that man so many years ago disobeyed God with his partner(ADAM and EVE), and therefor commited the sin that has condemned humanity to continue sinning forever.

this man, 2000 years ago, claimed to be God and teached of loving your nieghbors, enemies, and always being willing to help those in need.

and he Died in a torcher device the Romans had at the time to complete the prophecies of the Jews.

back then the jews, in order to be forgiven of a sin, were to sacrifice an animal and burn it for the Lord.

then Jesus accepted bieng the sacrifice, God himself, to carnally die in his Human form, to be the ULTIMATE sacrifice (bieng God and all), ultimate because it was a human who was pure and perfect, to forgive humanity of all their sins, atleast to those who accept this fact. (why forgive humans who dont believe you did this for them, when you have shown them proof)

so in a summary, Jesus, God himself, came to earth to reunite the relationship that God had with Adam and Eve, but to all humans who want to be reunited again. its simple really.

and all God asks once you accept him as the Savior of your soul, is to follow his 2 commandments.

1) Love your God with all your heart, mind, and soul
2) Love your nieghbors unconditionally.
for he saw that the 10 commandments were already too hard for humans to follow. he gave instead 2

thats the jist of it.

theres proof Jesus walked the earth, theres proof that all the disciples died a very horrible death praising the Lord, except paul. some died being crucified upside down, boiled in oil, thrown off cliffs, stonned..

and im pretty sure the disciples would not give their lifes such painfully for something they knew deep down inside was lie, or if at any doubtful. (would you???)
they themselves were hiding after Jesus was crucified because they thought their king had died.

but as soon as Jesus resurected and came back (being God and all), they had this unlimited bravery and confidence that allowed them to preach and teach and eventually die becuase they were doing so.

thats why us Christians believe what we believe.

its logical.

it makes sense and we can back it up with proof. ofcourse you dont have to believe the miracles, but atleast look up the facts.

cooladvice_02, you forgot Abraham, silly.

I'm an Orthodox Jew. We believe that Abraham is the father and that Yahweh is the one. We await our messiah to come rescue us one day.

I have lots of Muslim friends, and it's as if we are on the same platform. Me and Christians...that's a way different story. lol. Nothing personal..

I'm a skeptic and a rationalist, and an atheist. I strive to only believe in what can be empirically demonstrated; not to believe in anything that can't be disproven, and to base my opinions and positions on issues on what can be rationally defended.

As a result, I don't believe in any gods or 'higher powers', because there's no evidence for them, and no way to disprove them.

I’m a Muslim.
The prophet Mohamed explained the pillars of faith in Islam when he was asked by the angel Gabriel, What is iman (faith)? he said, To believe in Allah and his angels and his books and his messengers and the last day and predestination of good and evil.

1) Belief in Allah (God): he is the lord, the creator, the possessor and the controller of all matters. His right ‎to be worshipped, that he is the only true god, that all gods besides him ‎are false. He has beautiful names and perfect attributes.‎ His oneness in all that, that he has no partner in his lordship, nor in his right to be worshipped or in his names and attributes. He rose high over his throne ‎above his creation, and that he is with them by his knowledge and he knows ‎their conditions, controls their ‎affairs and that he is able to do all ‎things.‎

2) Belief in his angels: Allah has created them from light and ‎describes them as, “honoured slaves, ‎they act on his command. Angels have functions assigned to them. Gabriel is assigned to revelations ‎which he brings from Allah to whosoever he wishes of his messengers. Among ‎them are: an angel assigned to taking the souls, another to the ‎protection of mankind, another to recording of their ‎deeds…etc.

3) Belief in his books: Allah revealed books to his prophets and messengers, in order ‎to explain the truth and call to it. These books are many: the Scripture of Abraham, ‎the Torah of Moses, the Psalms given to David and the ‎Gospel which was brought by Jesus Christ. All these Books become extinct or altered except the last Book the Quran which was revealed to Mohamed. It is protected and preserved by Allah (no change or alteration).‎

4) Belief in His messengers : Allah sent messengers to his creation in order to worship him alone. The first of them was Noah and the last of them ‎is Muhammad. Allah has told us stories ‎about them in the Quran like Abraham, Moses, Jesus, David, John, Zakariah and Saleh… Messengers were humans created by Allah. They possessed nothing ‎of the qualities of God. Therefore, no act of worship should be ‎directed to them. The final of all these messages is that of Muhammad. His Message is the last of all divine Messages and he is the last of all messengers. Whoever denies anyone of them, it means he has denied all of them.

5) Belief in the last day: Believe that this life is a test for each one for the life that comes after death. A day will come when the universe will end and the dead will be resurrected for judgment by God. This day will be the beginning of a life that will never end. This day is the Day of Judgment. On that day, all people will be rewarded by God according to their beliefs and deeds.

6) Belief in pre-decree: believe that Allah knows what happened and what shall happen.

I'm agnostic, To make it short I just don't give a damn about whether there is an afterlife or not. To me you can't prove that a god exists, neither can you fully disprove it. However I do see the need for religion in society.

Really? I'm afraid the statistics don't back you up there: There's no correlation between religiosity and any positive incomes people have bothered to try measuring.

Maybe not statistically, but I have seen people who have had their lives changed because of their religion (some close friends are some - so what if it's only belief.). The problem (in my opinion) comes in when one religion feels that they need to convert everyone else in the world and then they actually go out and ACTIVELY annoy people to say the least.

That doesn't mean they _need_ religion. I've seen people changed by gaming, but that doesn't meen we _need_ computer games.
