This can't be my bmi, can it?

hj Asked by evalynn about 1 year ago, 4 answers.

In wellness class to day we took our bmi. Our teacher had this machiene that she put our height into, and then we steped on it and it told us out bmi. Mine was 13.3! She was all Thats really good. But to my understanding that's actually unhealthy. I'm...

5'1 and around 100 pounds. Was the machiene wrong?

There is no way that BMI is possibly correct. You wouldn't be alive if your BMI was that low. If your BMI was 13.3, that would mean someone at your height would have to be about 70.5 pounds. Although I think you're a tad underweight I assure you your not freakishly skinny! (Which is a great thing!) You're definitely thin though.

That teacher might have been teaching you the wrong stuff on purpose, you might want to confront her on that, and if she apoligizes, and says she got wrong, shrug it off, but if she doesn't really do anything, or she is like, 'Nope, I got it right.' Talk to your principal, because she shouldn't be a teacher if she teaches you wrong.
