Then is used when an action has taken place or will take place and will be followed by another action. For example: we will go to the shop then daniel will go home.Than is used to compare things. For example: My dog is bigger than yours.

Well, your question's been answered, but often we use then as the beginning of the second part of a sentence whose first part begins with if. The if/then construction should help you to test your usage at least.

WHEN YOU USE THEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING YOU ARE going to DO AFTER ANOTHER THING...LOOK:
IM going to DO MY HOMEWORK AND then IM going to GO TO BED

AND YOU USE THAN WHEN YOU WANT TO COMPARE SOMETHING...:

YOU ARE OLDER than ME.

Then deals with time (I'm going to the store, then the flower shop) while than deals with comparison (I'd rather go to the store than the flower shop).

get it?
