The pill

Asked by kaatie 9 months ago, 6 answers.

My boyfriend and me had sex for the first time tonight (: We tried it with and without condoms. I need to get the morning after pill tomorrow, I'm not on the pill. To be honest, I'm not quite sure if I want to go on the pill, I don't like the side...

effects it causes for example putting on weight and making my boobs bigger, they are already big enough as it is. Do you think it would be fine if we kept having sex without condoms and me just taking the morning after pill the day after?
Much appriciated x

Uhm, ok, a. do you know how much the morning after pill costs, and b. the morning after pill is like the pill, only with 10x the dosage, which means that much times the side effects... so if you're trying to avoid side effects, that's not the way to go. And side effects vary for people. Not everyone gains weight, and not everyone has an increase in bust size. And for the sake of STD protection, I suggest you use a condom. He may not even know if he has an STD. If you are completely against hormonal forms, there are other options, like the copper IUD, you should go into the family planning clinic and discuss your options with them. The morning after pill is not an option for regular use. Also regular use has never been documented. You dont know what you could be doing to your body by pumping it with hormones like that.

well if he ejaculated inside you the best thing is to get the morning after pill!!! but if he didnt, I would definitely consider starting birth control if I were you... I have been on it for a couple months and there are no side effects. anything you hear about it making you gain weight is not true... I asked my doctor about it! (she said most girls start the pill as their bodies begin to fill out and they associate their weight gain with the use of birth control) there really aren't any side effects so as long as you remember to take the pill daily you will be fine! (if you dont believe me ask your doctor about it! lol) After all, sex is much better without condoms (just make sure he doesnt he's been checked for stds!) hope I helped =]

The morning after pill IS NOT a permanent birth control method.

If you use it everytime after you have sex, it'll cause you to have some nasty side effects like nausea, vomiting and all other things that you don't want. It also interferes abnormally with your cycle and other mentstrual issues.

It's only to be used in emergencies.

Rather go get the pill or the depo provera shot and get youself protected.
