Is it true that the pill makes you gain weight?

Yes and no,

certain pills make you gain weight and others don't.

It all depends on how you react to them.

in general if it makes you gain weight, it won't be more then a few (about 5) pounds.

Also heavier pills (such as triphasil) makes women gain weight generally - they are also ment for older women, whereas lighter pills doesn't. So ask your doctor for the lightest pill possible...you'll still be protected the same but it won't have all the same side effects.

In clinical studies of Ortho Tri-cyclen, women reported no more weight gain than women who were taking inactive pills.
