Irregular periods just gum up the works when you are trying to get started on birth control. You need a pregnancy test to confirm that you can start the pill, though a normal period would be better. If you got a normal period it would confirm that your body has recovered from the 2 episodes of morning after pill, so if you can wait, do so.
The other thing is that you are risking pregnancy by not having a reliable birth control for the next month. Condoms are an option- though it sounds like you haven't had good luck with them. I'd recommend another visit to your doc for the OK to start BCP, or to talk about another method that you can use right away- what about a diaphragm?

The pill
Hello,
I started my period quite late, and they were only very light short ones.
Shortly after I started, I had 2 silly accidents involving a condom not being put on properly, and because of this I had to take 2 morning after pills in one month.
After...
both morning after pills, I experianced two very heavy periods (obviously due the morning after pills)
However, the month after, I didnt get a period, I did a pregnancy test and I wasnt pregnant so I just assumed because my periods are odd it was just missing out a month, then about a month later, I got such a heavy period (bare in mind I had been sexually active during these months) it was clotty, horrible and unbareable.
I went to my GP, she did a pelvic exam and assured me all as alright, and that it may have even been a misscarrige, as much as this worried me I felt reassured that everything was okay.
My docter advised me to go on the pill, but told me I should start taking it when I get my next period... But typically things dont run smoothly for me and I havent actually got my period this month.
How am I ment to take the pill? Should I take it regardless of not having a period? I think I need to take it soon to be on the safe side regarding sexual intercourse.
Help! - sorry I blabber on a bit.
