The "n" word

sam and me Asked by lish54 10 months ago, 12 answers.

When I submitted this it changed the title...it supposed to be the 'n' word. first, I dont ever use this word. I think its really offensive and no one should use it. I know a lot gets offended when whites say it, so I was just wndering. If a recording...

artist records a song and the word is in it (and they are black) and if a white person is listening to it and they are singin it and they say the word. Do you think its still offensive?

No - if you are just singing a lot with the lyrics then it should not be offensive to anyone.

Although I find it quite hypocritical that they say that certain people can't say it because it's offensive - if they think its' offensive then they should not be using that word either. It was origanally used to put down blacks and I dont see how any black person could feel proud to use or say that word.

It isn't bad. Thats the lyrics and the lyrics can't be changed because you'd need to write a whole new song!

As long as it isn't personally calling you the N word, don't bother.

Personally, I think that no one should use that word whether they're black, white, yellow, or blue!

No, not at all. First thing if black people don't want to be called it (and they shouldn't be called it) they shouldn't say it themselves!!!
Also if you're singing along you don't mean it, you're not calling anyone it, but I still wouldn't let anyone hear you say it in the street!!!

Who cares?

I dont see how anyone could use that word - especially a black person. That word was used to put down, dehumanize and opress black people in the past. I dont see how anyone could be proud to call each other that.

well they feel that hey since they called us that its technically our word so if they want to use it they could use it. it shows them where they came from and where there at now and there proud of it there not lowly slaves anymore there more than that it shows even people who came from nothing can achieve great things and its a free country so why cant people just what dey wanna say

I do NOT think that using the N word is showing how far they have come and how much they have achieved - if anything it is slowing them down and bringing them back to those days. There is nothing to be proud of when it comes to that word - nothing.
