Okay, so some colored people take offense when they get called the N word. But not all of them. My friend and I say it like this...White people dont get offended when someone calls them a Cracker so why should a black person get offended when called the N word?? Many people have different thoughts about what that word means though thats why some people get offended and mad. It all depends on if the person your calling the name to thinks that the N word is bad.

Been stuck there for 17 years Answered by tarkyo on Mar 27, 2009, 09:08PM

I'm sorry, but blacks don't hold a monopoly on the word nig*er. As far as I'm concerned the mere fact that they can say nig*er -- along with HONKY and CRACKER or any other so called race demeaning words without any social repercussions -- gives me the FREEDOM to speak any words I want. So There!!

The whole racial stigma is wearing off. What happened in the past happened, and no one should blame white, brown, or black people about anything. I hear people say n please and if it bothers you dont say it at all. It is freedom of speech. It also depends how you use it. If you use it to degrade someone then your butt should be kicked but if I say N please stop this stuff or something not direct then what is the deal.

Touchy Subject...but I personally think they can call each other what they wanna call each other, why is it hurting you?the reason most people cant stand for them to use the word is because they cant use it.
trust and believe there not the only ones calling us crackers
if they want to reclaim their word I think its only fair that they do. Of course it would offend them if you or me said it and I completely understand why.
I say its OK for them to use the word
my ex-boyfriend is black, and he uses the word..and since we've talked about it I understand where he's coming from when he uses the word. and there is a difference between I G G E are and I G G A... ER is what slave masters used and A is a word that they reclaimed as their own.

Answered by epikk on May 25, 2009, 09:26AM

I go to a school where its mostly white people and they all say it more than any black peron I know and to all the people that say that everyone can say it juast tink white people had there chance and look what happened (slavery) when a white person says it jokingly or not it reminds you of the suffering and oppression of an entire race because of the word with the visual connection so no it is not ok for a white person to say it and it should not even be a question

I don't agree with racism.
I don't say the and word at all, even to joke...
I don't like it when anyone says it, it's a nasty word.
I don't like it when people call me or anyone else wetback either.

It's weird how people of a certain race can say a word, but it's wrong if someone else does.
Just like beaner, me and my friends say it all the time, but if someone else would say it to us, we'd get offended...

Honestly, I don't care what people say, usually. I'm allowed to say anything I like, and so are you.

I think it's wrong to try to deliberately hurt someone with words, but if the victim realizes that it's just a word, the power is gone.
Insults are only offensive and hurtful when you let them be.

I never say that word. I yell and scream at people who do. It is a very offensive word. I think that if black people don't want other races calling them that then they shouldn't refer to themselves as n___ either...

I agree... there is no monopoly on the word nig*er. If they don't want white people or any other race using it, they probably shouldn't either. That is really the only way the racism will ever begin to end.

A Picture of Me Answered by urza216 on Nov 24, 2009, 08:18AM

I think it's an old word with a lot of historical significance. Nonetheless, I also think it's a word that's still commonly used by young black GUYS and old white men..
