why would you be excited about them cancelling your school? you just have to make it up at the end of the year if they shut down your school

A little I live in New Jersey, I do not know anyone who has had it but the schools are talking about closing where my little sister goes because we are pretty close to New York, but my sis told me that this girl in her class took a trip to Texas and when she got back she had a really bad cough. Scarry even though I do not know if you cough when you have the swine flu but oh well.

A few cases but apparently not severe - some info:

What You Can Do to Stay Healthy:

Stay informed. This website: http://WWW.cdc.gov/h1n1flu
Will be updated regularly as information becomes available.

Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.

Take everyday actions to stay healthy.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.

Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.

Take care !!

the swine flu is no more the 20miles from my town.

where ever the swine flu is school is closed for 2 weeks(14 days) counting the weekends

but you DO NOT have to make it up! because this would be an emergency you dont have to make it up at the end of the year
but really its nothing to worry about. I don't know why people are over reacting. its just like the normal flu. you only die if your realyl young, old, or have a weak immune system. just like the normal flu
