Thank you poem i wrote, tell me what you think?

team =] Asked by volleeit18 7 months ago, 6 answers.

This is a poem I wrote...yes it is kinda about someone but tell me what you think...it actually isnt sad this time! haha

Thank you

Thank you for being so near
Whenever I feel apart
Whenever my mind is unclear
I know you’re in my heart

Thank you for...

listening
Whenever I talked
And thank you for following
Whenever I turned and walked

Thank you for it all
Everything you’ve done
Catching me when I fall
And being my number one

My heart you did host
So I thank you forever
When it needed you most
You had it whenever

I may not have treated you
As well as I could of
And I’m sorry for that too
But its you that I love

I have waited so long
To say that out loud
But it felt so wrong
When “just friends” I vowed

So thank you again
For taking my heart
Thank you best friend
For loving me from the start.

well I wrote it about my best friend who said he loved me today but I'm really scared of being in a relationship and getting close to someone so my feelings must only be known threw the words I write

I believe than someone who is not accustomed to being deliverd personal poems could easily get confussed. especially if he has some sort of feeling.
About the poem: It is ok. Although it is necessary to mention that I can flatter your ability with the language, but there is no poetry in what you wrote.
I think it is up to your age and what you've been through. But you do very well with English! Let's say that nowedays poetry is much more that rhyme, in fact, in free verse there is no rhyme.
So try to get a deeper sensation into your future poems. Try reading modern authors, and try to form images with words, lively living images.

Without taking into consideration what the poem is about, I really don't like poems that rhyme!
There's no rules in poetry. So it's not at all any point in writing a poem this long, and make all of it rhyme. It sound terrible when reading it out loud.

You could probably say the same things you say here in half the space, if you used other words and didn't waste so much time thinking abou whats rhyming with what.

This isn't meant to be cruel at all, and I'm shure the one who got it liked it, but to a poet it wouldn't sound good. At all.
