Television help how do I turn on my t.v?

How do I turn on my t.v., it is like so confusing, my boyfriend , joseph, told me that I needed to get batteries for the remote, and I tried but they wouldnt fit, and I pressed the power button, but nothing happend, and yes the t.v. Is plugged in! Im not stupid just confused, any help?!

First, you need to determine if the batteries are bad and if they are, you need to get the size that fits (usually AA). You said that nothing happened when you pressed the POWER button so either the batteries are bad or you don't have them in right. You should be able to press any button and a light will light up if the remote has power.
