Hot lines can be very helpful depending on the person calling. People will listen to you if you're willing to be open and talk to them.
Depending on what kind of things you want to talk about, there are a multitude of numbers you can call all over the country.
800-SUICIDE (800-784-2433) is the national suicide hot line, and you'll automatically be directed to the crisis center closest to you.
800-621-4000 is the national hot line for run away kids.
800-656-HOPE (800-656-4673) is the national hot line for rape and sexual assault survivors.
800-DONT CUT (800-366-8288) is Self Abuse Finally Ends, which is the hot line for teens who self-harm.

If you look online you can also find some organizations where you can email with people willing to talk to you if you're not comfortable talking on the phone.
My friends mom is a one of the people who answer the phone and trust me she's like the best person to talk to in the world. People who volunteer for that sort of work are really understanding and give the beeest advice ever. My friend's mom is seriously a miracle work. She helped me sooo much with my last break-up. And yes, my friend's MOM.
