Tattoo ideas... hmm...

Alright, so I'm going to go get a tattoo done soon and I'm not sure what I should get. I want it on the inside of my right arm... by my wrist. I want it to be cute but I don't want flowers, stars, writing, or butterfly's. And no larger than:

I hope I dont offend anyone, but I personally feel like tattos cheapen a person, make them look cheap and dirty, they rarely look good on guys and seldom on girls and I know many blokes who feel this way. I would have a serious think about whether your ready for the ink or not, cause once it goes on, it doesnt come off.

If this is your first tattoo, at our shop we always recomended that people get their first tattoo in a place they can hide, not on their wrist. Coming from a person who has 9 tattoos and 2 can not be hiden ANY way, it is very difficult to find a job that is accepting of my tattoos and you need to consider what you plan on doing in the future before you decide to ink up your body in a place you can not hide. I'm all for tattoos, I just think that you need to put some thought into this and consider getting your first one in a place that can be hidden. In our shop, most of the people who came in years later for new tattoos or cover ups, always said they ended up hating their first tatoo.

You shouldn't get a tattoo if you don't even know what you want.
You're just getting a tattoo for the hell of it, and that's a mistake.

if you get a tattoo, it should definitely be something you want, and definitely something you're sure you'll like years down the road. choose wisely...you keep it forever.

if you get a tattoo...make it mean something not just some random thing on your body...say for instance you want to go into nursing...if you graduate maybe get the star of life as an ink...thats what I got and when I graduate the Marines im going to get the eagle globe and anchor...have it mean something so it is more special..

if you dont know what to get, dont get anything
wait untill youve found something and are happy with it
the most regreted tattoos that people get are
names of lovers, friends, bfs, gfs, ect (people names other than family)
and band names and symbols

okay thank you guys. ems_jon... I liked your response best. I will definitely think about it. And you guys are right. It's not like I want to get just.. something random. I want it to mean something, or I really want to like it. Like everyone says Its with you for life ... but yea I just wanted ideas and now that I've thought about it a bit more I'm going to get it in a place I can hide it. seeing as I want to become a nurse and all.. it might be best if I keep it hidden. But yea.. thanks again!!
