If possible just cover the tattoo up but I'm guessing it's somewhere visible like his face or hands. Unfortunately, tattoos are pretty permanent but naturally fade in time. First off, does your son really want to remove his tattoo or are you trying to convince him to get rid of it because you don't like it? It wouldn't be right to push into getting rid of it if that is not what he wants. This may not be the reason that your sun can't get a job. Revise his interview skills, his curriculum vitae and the type of jobs his applying for so that your sure it's not any of these.
Let's say he does want to get rid of it or hide it. Here are a few tricks.
1- Make-up (ordinary kind or the special one used in theatre)
2-Some people have sworn by these products (they must eb applied for many months before you see a difference)
-Proactiv Repairing lotion
-Tat Gone
3-Here is another solution that I found on the net:
-Removing tattoos -CAUTION- This is a medical procedure that can be done only by a physician. It is called salabrasion and requires several treatments by rubbing salt on the tattoo. Healing is required between treatments, but there is virtually no scarring.

The most important thing is NOT to try to remove the tattoo yourself by cutting or peeling, this causes bad scarring and can lead to infection or complications.

Good luck!

It is entirely possible that not being able to hold the job is not directly related to the tattoo itself, but his attitude/other reasons. I don't know of many employers that are willing to fire someone solely due to the reason of having a tattoo. When you get down to it, he can simply cover the tattoo wearing a long sleeved shirt.

I found that Tat B Gone really did work for me. Had a 12 year old sunset tattoo that I desperatly wanted off of me. I bought the 10-month supply of Tat B GOne which actually lasted me 11 and its now pretty much gone. No scarring or pain, just lots of patience and following a routine. I'm telling everyone I can about it because it worked so well for me. Good luck to your son!
