Tampons - new to using them, bit nervous

Okay this might sound really dumb but I am actually afraid to use tampons..... I have tried many times but I get all scared and I dont really know why...dumb I know! But anyways...I'm 15, never been fingered/touched there at all but pads are really...

annoying and I really would rather use tampons but everytime I go to try to use them I get all freaked out....is there anyway to get over this...Tamponphobia???? Please I will take any advice.....

Hey girl...that doesn't sound that dumb...I used to be like that a long time ago. Trust me though, you have to get over it because its not really that bad. Once you do it once...it doesn't hurt anymore or anything. You've just gotta go for it. Hope I helped at least a little!!

Dont worry, its not dumb to be scared. i was terrified and avoided them at first, but your right, pads are killer annoying. You'll never go back once you use a tampon, they're much better. Just read the instructions and talk to someone your close with. No one will laugh so dont worry. If your worried about pain becuse u've never been fingered, just start out using a really small one just so you get the feel of it going in and know how to work it. If the fact that you've never been touched down there is part of the fact that creeps you out, then touch yourself. I know your probably wondering what is this girl thinking, but its normal. Just get used to you body.

the best thing you can do is you need to start witht he smallest possable ones... like i started out witht hose ones you put in your self that dont have the despencer. and i was just as freaked in the begining but you need to stay relaxed to just breath and take your time. trust me i sworei would never use those because they hurt but look at me now its been like 3 years and now im using SUPER PLUS +++ pearls lol. now im not gunna lie it does hurt some times butt hat just means you have the wrong size and you need to go smaller, but if they are really bothersome then you might now use them, thats ok too ALOT of people out there dont use them...

I have the same tamponphobia issues. I have to miss swimming classes if i have my period because Im too afraid of using a tampon! This scares me in other ways like, how will I ever loose my virginity! Should I just become a nun or is there hope out there??

i also have that phobia i mean how should i know exactly where to put it inside of me i also need help (wheres is the right hole im supposed to put it in) (sorry if my question is disturbing)

I know what you mean. I used pads before, and then i got on the swim team and i had to start using them. The first time it hurts a little, but then it doesn't hurt. Taking it out hurts a little too.
