hey jadegreen1,
Im from Melbourne (which is a little to the south-west of Sydney) but I've been to Sydney a bunch of times and let me tell ya this -
its a little more fast-paced than Melbourne as far as every-day life is concerned... a little more business-oriented (which is good for you since your planning to work there)
but the negative things are -
- its pretty cold in winter (May-October),
- summers can get smoggy and foggy at times, but not all the time.
- after you see the Harbor Bridge and the Opera House there isnt really anything else to see in Sydney. (that is why most tourists get turned off by that city quickly and escape to somewhere more interesting, such as Melbourne, Brisbane (which is to the north of syd) and so on...
- the drivers in sydney cannot drive.
- big traffic on the roads and freeways and whatnot (but then again, Melbourne can get pretty bad too)
- if you want good beaches you should go north from syd.
cheers, Mike.
