what kind of surgery are you getting?

It depends on the type of surgery you're having, but no it doesnt actually hurt while they're doing the procedure because they give you an anesthetic, either a local (which just numbs the area they're cutting open) or a general (which puts you to sleep). Afterwards, depending on what you get done, it may hurt a little, they give you pain killers if the pain will be bad...

Depends on the surgery, providing that type of information helps people give you a more accurate answer.

You obviously won't feel anything during the procedure. Afterward, you'll feel sore for a few days, but nothing unbearable - sort of like the pain of a bruise. You biggest complaint will be loss of sensation in the incision region later on.

Talk to your doctor. He may be able to give you some meds to calm your nerves between now and then.

It probably wouldn't hurt during the operation but you could be sore for awhile after.

Yes, it is always a possibility that a person could die in lots of kinds of surgeries but that would be rare. The percentages of survival are in your favor.

If the surgery is like weeks or months away, then I'd consider trying to increase your body weight to a more healthy weight. The healthier your body is the less probability for complications in surgery.

Good Luck!
