You have got to be kidding? Bush, and republican policies for the past 30 years, is what has put us in the position we are now. No one, Bush, McCain, nor Obama would be able to reverse this economic slid in 70 days. Are you so unwilling to even give the guy his hundred days?

He might be adding some fuel to the fire, but we won't know that for a while. As far as raising taxes, he is only raising them on the top 5% earners. He is focusing on helping the middle class, not the wealthy, like republicans have been doing since Ronnie Raygun. Are you going to paying more taxes? I doubt you are in that tax bracket. Why do you care that some wealthy person is going to pay a little more? It will have no affect on them, or you, and will help offset spending. There has been a war on the middle class, and we need someone to fight back. Obama appears willing to do that. I applaud him for it.

I voted for the person who the most qualified. It wasn't even close. I voted for the person who was most closely aligned to my views. Again, not even close. So please spare us the we are all so blind, and only voted based on emotions. If I hated Bush, it was for good reason. He is personally responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people. Anyone who is not outraged by that is either blind, or psychotic.

But back to Cody: look, if you're seriously dissatisfied with what the new US president has done in only 2 months in office:

(1) The voters will have their chance to elect a different president from a different party at the next elections. That's the democratic system - they elected him into office, and they can voice their displeasure at the next elections.

(2) You yourself can show how you mean things should be, by getting involved in local politics. Learn to present your views, argue convincingly and logically - and then put your convictions into action. That's a lot more constructive than lashing out with a non-question on an 'advice' site.

If you haven't noticed, small businesses are suffering now, and the economy is the worst its been since the 30s. That was all due to conservtive policies, and certainly nothing to do with Carter. Regulations rarely affect small business. It is big business that regulations are set up for. They are the ones with the money and power to rig the systems for themselves. Wake up man and stop being an appologist for these crooks.

If I remember back to your rickd days, you also thought McCain was going to win. So far Obama has had overwhelming support in this country and people are more than willing to give him a chance, despite the naysayers on the right.

Yes, I agree about the corruption, power corrupts. So now we are just shifting the corruption over to government and hope they dont let the power corrupt them. These are interesting times with Obama telling CEO's what to do. Telling Chrysler to sell there company to a foriegn car company . . . everything is just weird.

The government is you and I, and every other American. You know, as a republican once said, government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We get to choose who is power, and we have the power to fire them. In the corporate power structure we don't.

I do not buy into the right wing myth that government is evil and can't do anything right or efficient. It is not government who got us into this mess, other than its lack of attention and oversight of the massive corruption happening in our free market.

conservative policies? im pretty sure the economic crisis came about with dems having control of senate and congress...obama has spent more than bush has in his first 100 days so now I dont hear dems crying about money issue theyre leaning on the lives part now which happens in wars...people die.. and this crisis was pretty much a cigarette on the carpet... we could have stomped it out in congress when they asked for money but no obama dumbed a whole container of gasoline on in saying there would be martial law etc etc I can pull up video files if you would like obama said congress had one hour to read over a 1000+ paper of the stimulus bill all of this is bullshit he isnt doing his job the way he said he would just like every other politician I cant say I like or hate the guy but you get the idea...and why would I get out of a contry im defending for you while you sit behind a computer desk?
