Suicide is not the answer

thats my bunny shadow Asked by jackie_ob 10 months ago, 4 answers.

I learned today that my friend wants to commit suicide! When I told her she needed help and if we tell the school they can help her and fix it, she said no. She said she didnt want to get the school involved. I know that if I dont do anything it will...

only get worse. But now I dont know what to do. Can somebody out there help me? What should I do?

There are actually a few things that you can do. When I was 14, I wanted to kill myself because my dad passed away and I was daddy's little girl. You can take her to the hospital and tell them that she said that she wants to kill herself and they will put in the crisis center. If you tell them what she said exactly, and she denies it, they could possibly commit her. Then she would have to stay whether she wants to or not. Thinking about killing yourself is a VERY big problem that has to be resolved because, like you said, in the end it's only going to get worse. She might have depression or something like that. If she does, it doesn't just go away by it self. She would need medication to make her feel better. I have been on medication for depression for quite sometime and I feel a lot better then I have before. Do you know if she has a plan on how she is going to do it? Most people that are serious about committing suicide always have a plan on how they're going to pull it off. You need to sit her down and explain how much people love and care about her. This might make her feel better. If not, then definitely take her to the hospital. Good Luck!

Tell her parents. Tell them that you are really worried about her and that she has been talking about committing suicide.
If her parents are not available for some reason, tell your school teacher, nurse, or counsellor.

It's important that she gets some help. And you can get that for her through her parents or school.
