Alright, I understand that 13 is when you become a teenager and you become more and more interested in your appearance. I am 20 years old and I felt the same way about my body when I was your age. But, little do teenagers understand that most people start there menstrual cycle around that age some younger but that too puts on weight during that time. I am 20 and am only 5'2. So, I would also say it's based on your height as well. I thinned out as I got older and haven't stopped since. To make this process for you faster, I would cut back on the snacks every few minutes and that means NO junk food. If you feel like you want to snack on something grab something out the fruit basket instead of the chip bag. Drink PLENTY of water and being that you are a female cranberry juice is good as well. Cut back on your sugar intake and go for a walk with a few of your friends or see if a family member is interested. And girl!! Don't worry about what these guys think about you, at that these so called friends of yours telling you this, because I doubt any of them you will be friends with throughout high school. Worry about school and getting yourself straight; mind, body, and soul. And I promise you will be happy and feel better about yourself.

who said you are 20 pounds overweight? how tall are you and what do you weigh?
since you are 13 you might just be growing up faster than your friends who are still twiggy and look like little girls. also... at your age, boys don't know anything, so if they're calling you fat, then they probably just don't know what girls are supposed to look like.
Boys don't think about that kind of stuff to tell you the truth, and your friends are probably lying to you because they're jealous because that boy actually does like you... girls can be really mean to eachother. that's why I didn't have any girl friends in school. I only had guy friends, and they all wanted to date me.
try out for a sports team at school to stay at a good weight. the practice sessions alone will keep you working out enough that if you have any weight to lose at all, you will lose it quickly.
My docter actually told me that I was overweight. I am 5'4 and I have belly fat!! those girls (actually just one, I was kinda typing fast), and that friend is actually my best friend and she is kind of a tomboy so she hangs with guys a lot. and they are her friends, so I trust her. but thanks for the advice!

Struggling to lose pounds any advice?
I need to lose weight. I'm a girl, so I would really prefere answers from other girls.
Anyway, I am 13 years old and its not like im fat or anything, its just im not thin. I am about 20 lbs overweight, and I want to be thin.Some of my friends tell me...
that they have heard guys say that im hot, but that my weight is a turnoff. And so I went on diet plans, (which didnt work), I excercised and ate right (which only lasted for a short period of time), and I asked my docter (which only made me feel worse about my body). so if there is anybody out there struggling with the same problem and/or has overcome it, please help! Thank you!
