Hello, my name is Mikhail. im 17 years oold and I have a lot to get off my chest. im jobless, my dad is jobless and my mom is the only one working. my dad is on a government income tho. my sister is getting surgery in 10 days for scoliosis, and she has a high chance of being paralized for the rest of her life. I live in a small town and there are no jobs available. and I have no form of transportation to other towns. I have applied everywhere for a job so I can help my family with bills, but its hopeless. I have a girlfriend, and I love her very much. but I am affraid if I get a job, I will work all the time, and that will leave no time for her. my dad is an alcoholic (not violent) and my mom is cheating on my dad (only I know). my junior year in highschool is 12 days away from ending, and im failing one class thats impossible to get up. my GPA is a 1.6.. I scrued up a lot early in life, and as a result, im paying the price. everything is building up. suicide has been in myu thoughts. help me...please

I know this feels like a very stressful time. I am going through my last few weeks of high school and a lot of my teachers have told me that life isn't always going to be laid out nicely for you. I'm not sure if you believe in God. I'm Sorry for mentioning this if you don't, but, I know that God puts people in situations its hard to handle sometimes just to test their faith and ability to stay strong. This is a tough economic time for everyone and maybe even tougher for people in small towns such as you; however, don't give up. If you have a hidden creative side to you, you may want to think about taking and editing pictures, or even painting, and selling them to a local coffee shop, or hanging them in a gallery for others to buy. My brothers are currently helping out local elderly neighbors doing yard work now and then. It doesn't pay amazing but he will bring home 20 or 30 dollars every few weeks. Also I really want to discourage you away from your suicidal thoughts. I will share something with you. My Great grandfather recently tried committing suicide. (Thank Goodness He Didn't Succeed). It broke my heart. It made me angry at him and at the same time I wanted to make sure that this would never happen again. He means a lot to me. Though you may feel it would ease your pain, think about all the pain that you may cause others, Especially your Parents and Girlfriend, and I know thats the last thing your sister needs too.

I actually had a speaker come into my psychology class today and speak about his childhood and how it affected him now. He had a messed up and very hard life. He got involved with a lot of drugs and alcohol and just the wrong crowd. After talking with people he became sober and his message to us was, no matter how much life seems to suck and no matter how much life seems like it hates you there is always a way out. He today works with a local forestry company and goes around speaking to kids.

Just take a deep breath and look at all of your options. You are still young and I promise that the people will love will always surround you.

Please funmail me if you need to talk more. I love helping people out and I am always willing to do my best.

this may sound hard to do, but you have to have patience, when you graduate from high school hopefully you will have the power to get out of the situation you're in and the only situation might be to get away from that small town you're in, if you get a job it will allow you to accomplish this, maybe you can get a job with your girlfriend so you can still see her, even if there is no jobs because of the bad economy there will eventually be some, it's all about patience, and please don't commit suicide, you have so much more to live for Mikhail
