Stomach problems

Asked by overcast_melody over 2 years ago, 6 answers.

For the past 4 months or so I have been having horrible stomach problems. Every time I eat I get incredibly nauseous feeling, and it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. It's not really burning like heartburn would be though. I am also vegan (I don't eat any kind of animal products including dairy). I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or has any ideas what it could be.

you should really go to the doctors

I have gone to doctors. My normal doctor had no idea after pepcid didn't work. I saw a gastroenterologist who wanted to put me to sleep and put a scope down my esophagus right off the bat so I didn't like that... I just saw a nutritionist on friday and she had a few ideas, but I was curious as to whether anyone else had ideas.

Do you take supplements? You may not be getting the proper amount of what you need to digest properly.

Excessive fiber in new vegetarian diets cause a lot of stomach ailments. Try soy products.

Keep a food journal and also note when you have the stomach problems. Then maybe you can see what has been agitating you.

If the problem persists, see a doctor!

Thanks sikashimmer. I do eat a lot of soy products. After talking to the nutritionist I'm trying some different supplements to see if the ones I was taking were not agreeing with me and if that doesn't work she has a few other ideas. One thing she said was that I could possibly be gluten intollerant; allergic to wheat... so hopefully that's not it! Thanks though

My daughter is 15 years old and has almost the same problem. She cannot eat dairy or anything that has tomatoes in it. She says her stomach hurts her constantly and especially when she eats. Sometimes she has dirrahea. I'm worried. She is seeing a speciallist.
