sit-ups are good if you want to gain some ab muscle, and burn some fat, but if you actually want to lose weight then you have to diet as well as doing some cardio exercises.
they are good but only if you do it along with some cardio =)
it can help
you also get muscles from it so you coudl gain weight if you do it a lot
they dont 'loose' your stomach
but yeah they help to tone it up
which will make it look flatter
try to do about 70-100 a day
youl see results sooner enough
hope I've answered your question.
No, I'd say situps can firm up muscle tone but not get you losing any fat. You need to do cardio for that, WITH the sit ups.
Sit-ups are not a good ab exercise. Sit-ups work the work your hip flexors more than your abdominal muscles. Sit-ups also put dangerous stress on your back (the bent-leg variety is a little better than straight leg but both put too much stress on your back).
As others have said, situps will not cause you to loose belly fat. Spot reducing does not work, you loose fat all over.
Have a knowledgable person show you the proper form for a good ab exercises like crunches or bicycle maneuvers. These exercises can build your abs without putting your back in peril.
