Stimilus package

Asked by greencorn 2 months ago, 1 answer.

I am 23 years old, I do not live with my parents. However my dad claimed me on his tax returns.
Even though I made more than he did in the year.
Because I am over 17, he does not receive the $300 for me, and since I was claimed I technically do not receive the $600 either.
This is what I thought.

However, an accountant at my dad's work claims that I should receive it.
Does anyone know which answer is right. Please let me know.

Mike

I am not exactly sure but I did get this from the irs.gov website, maybe you can look there and find more information. Or call a local income tax service and ask them.

From the irs website it says: Generally, people must have a valid Social Security number, have at least $3,000 in qualified income and not be a dependent or eligible to be a dependent on someone else's return.
