Still digital camera issues

My memory card says it needs to be formated but I dont want to lose my photos how do I retrive them?

If you have a computer and a cable for the camera, you can probably save all your pictures to the hard drive. then go ahead and reformat. I often use a card reader and just remove the card from the camera and stick it in the reader. My Mac instantly recognizes the card like a mini hard drive and I can drag my picture files anywhere I like. Are there software discs with the camera? These might help for special tasks with your pictures. BTW memory cards are so cheap even for large memories, you should have one or more extra.
