All of the above advice is great. Also remember that if you gain too much weight during pregnancy, giving birth can become more difficult (the birth canal can become fatty, causing more difficulty). A great site full of advice, articles, bulletin boards, etc., is babyfit.com. You should check it out. I'm a member, although I'm not having kids yet, because I want to learn about the different things I can do to be a healthy parent.
You could try just buying healthy snacks for now. Try things like carrot sticks, apples, cereal, and rice cakes. That way, you can snack all you want. It will be healthy for both you and the baby, and you won't gain much weight.
You could also try to keep yourself occupied so that you don't eat of boredom. You might be able to learn a language, take a yoga or aerobics class for pregnant women, or something else that will be healthy for your mind or body and keep you busy while making you feel good.
You could also talk to your ob-gyn. She might have some good tips about staying fit without depriving your baby of any nutrients.
Before you eat, really THINK. Do I need this? Am I hungry? Am I bored? If you say no to not needing it don't eat it, If your just bored don't eat it and don't eat it if your not hungry or if your content. Try picking up a new hobby something you like to do. Maybe gardening that might be kind of hard for being pregnant but there's always video games if your into that kind of thing or a site like this. Or one that has forums to pass the time on so you won't be so bored.
Healthy food, exercise and healthy lifestyle. I agree that you need to keep yourself occupied but not with food. LOL
