How do you start dreads?

How do you 'backcomb dreadlocks correctly?

I'm not sure if this is for everyone, but you basically don't wash your hair. When you do this, it starts to bind together. Then, they become dreads!

FYI: Not washing your hair does not make the best or healthiest dreads. The healthiest dreads are clean & dry. Nothing filthy is good for you, including dreads, unless you want to grow mildew in your hair, then go ahead and don't wash it! But I highly recommend that you go to that site. It hepls ALL races start their dreadies!
