not really, they might depending on what surface your running on
but usually there for stopping quickly and having better grip on the ground
its up to you though
but to run faster youll need to strengthen you leg calf and ankle muscles
NO THEY ONLY GIVE you A BTTER GRIP ...ITZ ONLY FOR DATZ...FOR FASTENIN YOUR PACE you SHOULD JUST TRY TO WORK HARD AND YOUR BODY WIL ADAPT AND GET FASTER
omg yes the do!!! well why do you think all the high schoolers use them??? and I've used them almost all track season and they helped me soo much like 1 time at a meet it was raining and the track was really slick with just shoes but I had my spikes and they help me run faster and keep a fim grip!!! just make sure you get the sprinter spikes not the long distance k??? but that's if you do get them an good luck in your race hope you win
