Spelling

So you think with the texting, e-mails and chat rooms, that it is effecting people to learn how to spell words correct?

I think it does big time.

I don't think even sympathy would give him a grade like that, lol. Some studies have actually suggested that it does have an impact. People feel as if they can afford to get lazy with their spelling, punctuation and grammar and there is evidence to show that there is a correlation between this and poor spelling in general. I like to keep a balance for this. In instant messaging applications I will abbreviate quite a lot, but with text messages and online forums (etc), I will type exactly as I am here... Hopefully that means I am using good grammar, spelling and all :D.

I dont think that it matters. its just chatting and stuff. maybe it does a tad but not as much as your thinking.

well if its with friends then yeah since most of them will attack me if I mispell something... I guess it varies on who and where it is...
