go to your local vet. they will probaly do a skin scrap to determine what is wrong and give you antibiotics to heal. anything unusual on a animal that has to do with its health must be taken up by your vet... Dogs paw pads are very important and can be very sensitive and painful..especialy when the dog walks on hard or very hot groun like concrete.
Dont try to use house remedies bc you could actually make it worse. You could use something that could irrupt or irritate the skin and make it much more sensitive.
Thanks for the advice. I have got an appointment for him at the vets but that is not untill Thursday, I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what it could be, just out of curiosity?
Interdigital cysts sometimes occur. These are lumps that form in between the dog's paw pads. A vet can perform a fine needle aspirate of the lump to check whether the lump is benign or malignant.
or it could be a flea allergy or bug bite that the dog keeps licking and nipping at which would cause irritation to the pads, which could be the wart looking things.
Its hard to come up with a diagnostic without have a test done or being a vet =)
sorry I cant give you a exact answer bc there are SO many possible things it could be. The dog should be fine tho in the mean time until your appointment. For now, try and keep a eye out, whenever you see the dog licking or nipping at the paws, stop him, just so he doesnt make it worse
Warts or what sometimes appear to be almost like blackheads, but larger...are a sign of a deep skin issues. These can range from allergies to an overproduction of skin bacteria's. As tifferbo said, the vet will likely take a scraping, to see what's going on, and there are antibiotics that aim directly at skin problems.
p
PS...Ditto to tifferbo, also on the licking of the feet...not only does it keep the area irritated...but can develop into a life long habit, even when there's NO problem going on...and that is a real pain in the you know what...

Sores on paws

Sores on paws
I have a 2 yr old chocolate labradore. On his paws he has some sores, some look a bit like warts but they vary in shape. They are kind of on the edges of the pads. Some look a little sore, he is walking fine and they dont seem to bother him normally. But...
he doesnt like me touching his paws and he sometimes growls at me when I try to have a proper look, so I think they may be a little sore when touched.
