Well, the "stories" were an addiction when I was in the Army some years ago. Our lunch time group gathered in the breakroom to watch "All My Children" every day. However, after a decision was made, for whatever reason, to change the tune of the theme song, somehow the show was never the same after that.
To this day, I do not watch any of the soap operas on.
My mother still does
)) She has her favorites that she has been watching for years.
Watching character development. I don't watch them unless you count Detective shows. But what Is the most interesting is watching characters interact in different situations.
rofl I personally have no idea. I think they are silly and way too dramatic. maybe those people just like over dramatized things to keep them excited because they are usually bored... there are always people being killed and kissed
Soap operas keep you interested by the drama they create. If you can stand watching e few episodes you can get caught up in the story's, and the drama.

Most of them are wholesome for all members of the family. In our place, the advertisements in between enables others to rest their eyes or do something for the little while.

What is the appeal of soap operas? A lot of my co-workers watch them, and talk non-stop about them, so what is the appeal? Are they actually entertaining to watch?
