How to deal with getting shots?

I have to get a um..some kind of Shot that Girls are required to get-meningitist. I am so freaked about it, and I keep crying. My mom told me I could get it on my butt instead of th muscle in my arm, because my arm's very sensitive. Would it hurt more in the arm? And if I have to get it in the arm, how do I prevent myself from tensing up, because I always do that and it makes it 50% worth. And I always look at the needle when they inject me!-I can't stop looking, cause I like to know WHEN it's going in me. To ease me, I'm taking my favorite stuffed animal with me. Please help.

hey!

I completley understand how yooh feel im terrified of injections but I'v had lots and I just trick myself into looking at something in the room to distract me, or my mom talks to me or if that doesn't seem to work, I think about what I want for dinner when I get out... lol that one works best for me. tehe hope this helped. x

oh I cant take shots eather every time I've gotton shots I've cryed to but last time I had to get my tb shot to go to school and I learned if I just lay their with my eyes cloths and have my head phones blaring for like 3 minets before they even do it by the time they did do it I didnt even feel it till it was over for like 5 minets then it feels a bit brused but yeah I was totaly cool with my shots when I couldnt see or hear what was going on my friend told me to do it so try that

and when they return the plasma back into your body...that's the best, so relaxing

just think of shots like I do lol

Oh this is tricky. I'm not afraid of things like this...I actually think its amazing...buttt to help the situation, I would say sweety...do whats best for you. If you need your stuffed animal...BRING HIM...(or her lol) It's good to have comfort. If someone needs to hold your hand or something then it's ok. Try and trick urself if these things don't work anymore. Headphones or music could help too!
