Does anyone here listen to anything that is not extremely mainstream like the Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana or whatever is popular right now? I mean bands like Gorod, Pain of Salvation, Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, Opeth, etc. Not stuff like Metallica, or Avenged Sevenfold because they are fairly well known. I am talking about bands where if you asked random people on the street not many of them will know them. So do you? I know a few of you do but I want to hear from some one else.

I think there was!... I listen to the song even the artist are not so famous as long as it should make me relaxed with their song... try to hear Dishwalla or Smashing pumpkins let's go back to the past.

most of my favorite bands are not mainstream- I love OTEP, and OPETH, NIGHTWISH, KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE, I would rather listen to music that is somewhat 'underground'.

SO YES I LISTEN TO NON-MAINSTREAM BANDS.

I listen to almost all music. I don't do the new-age trendy crap though.. makes my ears hurt.

Being that I just read them, they're what's in my mind now, I also listen to Otep, Opeth, Nightwish, Dream Theater.

How about As I Lay Dying, Rise Against, The Last Great Assault, Angels and Airwaves, The Briggs, etc. etc. etc.

im trying to find some good non-mainstream band because I think that their music is very underappreciated and awesome...so, yeah, I sometimes listen to non-mainstream music.
