wow somebody has loads of questions.
hi um I have snakebites but one side fell out so I'm left with my left side pierced.
1. it depends on how you wanna get them done. I did both sides myself and it was okay. the only trouble is when your getting your stud/ring into the hole when its done pierced.
2. yea, getting them both done at once will be a lot easier on you.
3. it's really up to you. I bite my lip and mess with my lip ring all the time it's totally normal.
4. at first you really need to take care of them because of risk of infection. I cleaned them a lot and brushed them with my tooth brush while brushing. make sure they are always clean.
5. normally a couple days. everyone's body is different. mine was swollen for a good 3 to 4 days.
your welcome
~Katie =)
1.) I can stand a ton of pain so on a scale 1-10 how bad does it hurt?
obviously getting soemthing pierced through your flesh will hurt to some dregree, but the pain is usually bearable
2.)should I get both done at the same time so I can get it over with or one at a time?
you may as well get them done at the same time by the same person
3.) I like to bite my lips so should I get a stud at first?
you dont put studs in youtr lip, you either get a labret(with a crewon ball/spike) or a ring
id say go with the labret and a screw on ball
4.)are they hard to take care of?
not really just avoid playing with them while there healing
5.)how long does the swelling last?
the swelling should only last around 3 days and then go down
also dont attempt to take them out or change them for at least 3 months
because they need that time to heal
please don't pierce yourself...
a professional piercer will not have trouble getting the jewelry into the hole as they will use a hollow needle.
also most piercers use a ring first as it allows for swelling, you can change it in 3-4 weeks if you want.
everybody hurts different, for me my piercings hurt during healing
you can irritate your ring a lot by playing with it, so try to leave it alone for the first while, but for sure, just don't touch it with dirty hands.
follow your piercers instructions for after care, they know best. most recommend using a sea salt and purified water solution. for one week
soak the outside to soften and remove any crust. use a small glass pressed to your face to do this.
rinse inside with the same solution by swishing, like you would mouth wash for at least 45 seconds.
you should rinse after every time you put anything in your mouth that is not water.
it might sound extreme, but it works! the last thing you want is an infection in your mouth.
I speak with 15 years experience, I've had 12 or 14 piercings, normally I have 7 in, but had to take them out because I'm pregnant, so I only have 3 besides my ears, 2 in my lip and my septum.
I've seen loads of piercings go wrong, usually because they were done in someone's bathroom.
