Well, no it doesn't hurt...or at least it didn't hurt me. They will numb it, clamp it, stab the needle through, then they will push the needle out with the piercing...you will still be numb for a wile after it's done, but the best thing to do is use mouthwash a lot, take benadryl, and suck on ice! This will help the swelling go down! Also make sure you won't get kicked out of you house before you do it...that is a pain in the booteh!

Well, first the piercer will clean the area to be pierced. Then he/she will mark the spot(s) where the jewelry will be placed with a marker. He/She will use a clamp to hold the skin firmly but not tight. The clamp also reduces the pain involved. It looks kinda like a miniature pair of grilling tongs with the triangle tips. Then he/she will push a small, hollow needle through the skin where the clamp is and thread the jewelry through the needle. The needle is about 2 inches long and about half the size of a toothpick wide. The actual piercing process takes about 3 seconds and is almost painless. The level of pain is almost like popping a zit. With all of the prep time included, it should only take about 10 minutes. After you're done you may feel a heartbeat throb but no pain. I just got snakebites today and they are my first piercings ever. I'm very happy with them and amazed how quick it went and how painless it was. Most of the fear I felt was due to the preparation; like the anticipation of getting a shot. Good Luck!

the piercer takes you lip marks the 2 spots, the puts one in a clamp then puts a hollow needle thru the marked spot and then puts the jewlry theu the needle and pulls the needle out. ad repeat

I'm going to get the piercings and I'm a little scared. I'm 14 and I've had my ear pierced. Some people said the snake-bites hurt a lot while others say they didn't even flinch. I just dont like needles. but I like razors. happy

I have snake bites. The first time I had it done, the second hole bled thanks to adrenaline. The second time around, it didn't bleed.

I still have my piercings now. The pain depends on how you take the pain really. I enjoyed them. Felt almost like getting your ears pierced, except you must take good care since they are in your mouth.

If you do get them, remember mouth piercings take shorter time to heal. I'm the poster child for that, less than a week and my left side was almost closed.

Again, it's different for everyone. No one can tell you how you'll handle the pain.

do you take them out just like normal peircings?

I've heard you have to take them out with like... pliars.
is that true?

does it hurt and is it difficult to change your peircings if you have to take it out with pliars.

ok ill give you some advice straight up if your going to get snake bites done get one side done first then wait a week for it to heal then get the other side done . my sister and some other people I knew went out and got both sides done at once and there lips swelled up really badly and it caused them a lot of pain so thats just a little tip , Also I got my bottom right side my lip pierced it doesn't hurt as much as you think it would and what they do is they take a needle and poke it through your lip from the inside out . it might hurt depending out you pain level but for me it was over before I knew it.

it didnt really hurt much at all, like a small sharp prick and then its done. my ears hurt more to be honest,. and its done but putting a clamp on your lip, then putting a needle through it,. Its not as bad as it sounds! I've been waiting to get mine done for years, and im so happy with them now

I have had my lip pierced and the only thing you feel is the clamp they use and the clamp pretty much numbs everything inside the holes of it and they use a 16 gauge needle with some sort of petroleum jelly so it slides right through and within like 2 seconds its done after that I didn't feel any sort of stinging or pain it swelled for a couple of days
