How to quit smoking?

how do you quit smoking? or watever w/o money because im poor as hell ?so I cant buy thatgum sh*t

here is the thing...you do have money. even though you are poor as hell, you still get smokes don't you? if you spend your money on the gum, you don't have money for cigs. I tried cold turkey, the lozenges, the patch, and the gum... the gum has worked best for me and for most of my friends. you just have to be serious about quitting. stop making excuses. write out a list of the pros and cons of smoking long term and short term. think about your family will react at your funeral when you die from emphazima (sp?)

try staying away from people that smoke and maybe munch on some cheap mints.
Or just like occupie your self in other things :]

im going to try and quit soon too, im waiting til aftre the weekend because I know the drinking will get me. And I refuse to use the gum because that just keeps the nicotine onn your mind. And to phych myself up im going to smoke menthols that weekend because I hate menthols, I smoke cowboy killers. And I found that after you work out or something, the craving is completely gone, so try and stay active.

also, when you get a craving.. close your eyes and take a couple deep breaths. always helped me.

look into a program that will supply you with gum, patches, and other things of that sort for free. I know there is one at my doctor's office...
