How would you write an equation of a line that contains the origin and given point? a.(2, -2) and then b.(3,4)
THANK YOU. THEY ARE BOTH DIFFERENT PROBLEMS. PLEASE HELP ME!
keep the y (x,y) on the top take away the bigger one from the smaller one (or the other way around, just don't switch on one or you'll get the wrong answer) abd put it in fraction form. then simplify it if its needed. 4--2= 6 3-2=1 the slope would be 6 then you use the (x,y) from one equation and plug it into this equation: y=mx+b to find b. your m is 6 4=6(3)+b 4=18+b -18 -18 -14=b y=6x-14 is the answer
megan3494 - those are two different equations, she's looking for the slope, the two points are the ones she provided and the origin, I.e. (0,0)
m = y1 - y2 / x1 - x2 m = -2 - 0 / 2 - 0 m = -2 / 2 m = -1
m = y1 - y2 / x1 - x2 m = 4 - 0 / 3 - 0 m = 4/3
I am sooo sorry.I feel bad that I cant answer that question b/c I'm in pre-algebra nad I need help a lot.
I hope you find your answer! good luck!
