Slept with tampon

I slept while using a tampon. What risks have I put myself at? This was the other night.

actually you can get toxic shock syndrome (tss)
this happens when bits of the tampon flake off
or even if you dont wash your hands before putting it in
while getting tss is rare, it can be fatal
and theres ususally a warning about it now on most tampon packs
you should only leave a tampon if for 3-4 hours
and use the lowest absorbescy you need
youll probably be okay though
but you do need to be careful
tampons arnt toys and no, not everyone ends up okay from leaving there tampon in for too long

there is a very very rare chance of gettin tss(toxic shock syndrome) but like I said its rare. tapons can be left in for 4- 8 hrs. maybe just a little longer while you sleep. just make sure to change is right when you get up in the morning. but otherwise your fine. I sleep with one in. its no big deal.

If it only happened once I wouldn't be worried. Like ashleykp1818 said. Toxic shock syndrome is EXTREMELY RARE. Don't worry about it, just change the tampon as soon as you wake up. It has happened to me more that just a few times and I have never caught any diseases.
