A: No, it's not really "needed", that's why it's always "optional"...you don't have to specify, but if you're looking to find something in common with someone on a related level, it's one more thing that will help find your compatibility.

A: I have no idea why some sites ask so many questions, and want you to join, sign in and ect. if it is for sutistics then they can mind there own busness. I was tring to get an unline quote from GICO and the questions, like who I worked for, if I was retired, and the other 3 pages had nothing to do with auto insurence.
