Lots of practice and time.

Search the internet for exercises. There are tons of exercises you can do to improve your breath control, diction and resonance.

As far as going higher... you need to master everything else first so you don't damage your voice. Stretching your range higher takes a lot of time and patience... years and years or work. It's best to get a professional vocal teacher (note- not a vocal coach.) Someone that can actually teach you technique.

don't be afraid to sound stupid. when i warm up, sometimes i sqeak and sometimes i don't make a sound, but the scales will help you.

or you can sing with the radio. i do that a lot too.
