Shyness around guys

Ok I'm 16 and really shy around guys, but around my friends I'm pretty loud/outgoing. I have a crush on this guy and he's very quiet too. People say we look alike and some of my friends are trying to get us together. I don't want the attention, though, and I know he doesn't. I try to talk to him but I'm not brave enough. I love this guy, he seems so sweet and honestly I think we'd be perfect together. I think he might like me, but I feel like I'm never going to get him all because I'm too shy. It sucks. Any advice on how to just talk to him or be less shy?...I've tried everything

Haha well yes shyness is really hard for some people. I just had a fear of rejection so I just avoided situations like that. The best thing to do is to try to catch him before or afterschool. Make sure that he is alone and take him on a walk to just "talk". It's not like you have to blurt out that you "love" him or anything but just talk and giggle and whatever else so he gets the picture. After a couple times you'll be more comfortable around each other and maybe something will spark in one of you to get confidence.

As for your friends they are just very excited about the whole thing and maybe too excited cause they are making you held back by it. If I was your friend I'd just blurt it out to him and make him at least go talk to you.

Yeah, we both do track so I see him like everyday after school. We've had some awkward eye contacts and stuff, and I feel like it would be so awkward talking to him I can't even explain haha. Another thing is what if I started by talking to him on facebook or on aim...because I am very comfortable on the computer...I'd have no problem talking to him, but then real life and I'm like ahh!

haha I've got the same problem with a girl right now! I think talking online is fine to start but its got to go farther than that, nothings a substitute for real hanging out.
