Should weed be legalized?

I think that drugs should be decriminalized in general. Prohibition not only doesn't work, but is also counter productive. If you don't want people DWI, then simply enforce DWI laws strictly. Creating new laws to counter the fact that old laws are not enforced, is simply stupid.

I really dont see the problem in it. Out of all the friends I have ever known the ones who smoked weed normally obeyed the law more so then those who drank. The thing is compared to what we already allow we can not justify punishing those who do it. Well if we cant punish them then we might as well collect the money off of it. There are a lot saying that this could jump start the economy, there is no doubt in my mind that if we allow this the economy would fix itself in 6 months time.

I agree, prohibition never works, they try control us way to much. if everything is illegal the humans find other ways to get high that are much much worse than the others. take meth for example. do you really think that if pot was legal someone would have made meth in the bathroom of their house? take Amsterdam for example. they know what speed is, but there are NO meth heads, because they can go to the local hookah bar to smoke their pot or eat their shrooms. thats just how society works... you tell us we cant have something, we will make up something on our own,

I feel it should be legalized all over for people with pain and people with add and adhd.

I think it should be legalized. Normal people are now being put in prisons for stupid reasons, and creating fear for the law in general. In NZ, we get $400 fine for every license condition you break... say for example me on motorcycle, ride a friends big bike at night with someone on back adds up to $1600. Thats for being busted once. Weed, is a perfect example... people go to prison because of weed, yet others drink and do dangerous violent things and courts arent as harsh. If we legalize weed, people are going to want to get along more anyway :D

70% of people in jail are non violent drug offenders. so lets say someone has a meth problem, so the state throws them in jail with murders and rapist and offers no help BUT 5 - 10 years of probation where you cant leave the state and you have to pay them money, make sense?

Legalized WEED now especially with our economy the way it is. THink about it, weed is a bilion dollar industry, it will millions of jobs, it will encourage people to spend more on food. Plus all the money that weed is making is going no where, just to other countries so why not the U.S.A make money off it. I do really think that legalizing weed will turn the economy around but wont fix it. Its always worth a try seeing that weed is the least harmful drug out there. Plus the benefits out way the negatives. I will argue my postion on this all day. There is no question about it, Billions of dollars plus it will increase trade between nations. New jobs more money, its a drug that helps with pain and many others. LEgalized Weed it need to be done.!!

I'm all for legalizing but I think if it was legalized the government would probably just raise the prices of getting good bud way up, shitttyyy
